The topics associated with the videos are derived from the University of Texas Libraries' Human Rights Documentation Initiative Thesaurus (in progress) which is based upon the USC Shoah Foundation Institute Thesaurus used for cataloging and indexing Holocaust survivor testimonies. The UT Libraries' Thesaurus is intended as a means of consistently cataloging materials across this and other human rights collections.

Although each video is associated with an extensive number of topics, this selected list of topics reflects the most frequently recurring terms and themes.
